This won't hurt a bit!!

On Monday morning I had to go to the dentist. I'm quite good with check-ups and stuff and I try to keep my teeth in order so these check-ups are as painless as possible (literally & physically!!)

However in recent visits to my dentist I've realised that the moment the chair reclines and she starts working I become strangely and wonderfully invisible.

As I lay there with her prodding around my mouth, she chats away to her nurse as if I am literally not there. They talk about their colleagues, their love lives, their nights out all whilst I lay there.

As soon as she takes the mask off and the chair is back in the seated position they both talk to me normally but for those brief moments I am completely and totally removed from their lines of sight and awareness.

And so my question is this.........what should I do with those moments of pure invisibility??

Molto Molto Benne!!

And so we've returned from our holiday in Lake Garda and it was amazing.

We shared the 12 days with our friends Matt & Chell and we had a great time doing lots of things - some highlights;

1. Conversations on the balcony discussing all sorts of things
2. Aqua Paradise an awesome waterpark
3. Hiring a boat for a whole day - it's amazing!! Special thanks to Matt L for making the experience truly interactive we were in the lake and the lake was.....
4. Gardaland an awesome theme park
5. Our apartment - beautiful
6. The food!!

Some not so highlights;

1. Driving in italy - Not us, we had the fantastic Matt L driving us expertly around the whole time. However the driving conditions are mental and the signs are incredibly unhelpful
2. The injuries - lots of injuries for all of us - except Matt L
3. Ryanair - I'll post more but it's fair to say I hate budget airlines
4. Movieland Studios - Oh dear!!!! A Blues Brothers show that was watching a film the feeling uncomfortable as 15 teenagers came onto the stage to dance.....not quite together at the same time.

In fact the only saving grace for movieland was the inclusion of Matt L and I as the leads in a street show of linedancing outsid the Dukes of Hazzard Burger bar.

I've uploaded some footage which you can find here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuqL8BAT0Ps or it's on the right just click play.

2 questions;

1. What is the guy in the camo hat doing because it sure isn't the same dance as us??
2. What does the song mean and why at the end of it do we all point and do jazz hands at the picture of the Dukes of Hazzard??

I'll be singing 'Hero' by Enrique........

So it's Friday night and Christina is stuck in London waiting for a train (3hours now)

And so in the spirit of being in the house alone I'm watching reality TV and to be exact 'The X Factor'. The new series has started and they're in the best bit........the auditions around the country.

This is always the bit when you get all the people who can't actually sing, dance......or even hold a conversation!!

Now there are some people who I pity at this point but the majority of people I don't pity at all, I end up shouting at the TV (try it sometime it's lots of fun!!) And what shocks me most is that some people take a day off work to go and queue for hours in the hope that for the 30seconds they're in there the 3 judges will either lose their ability to hear or lose their minds (and in doing so gain some sense of kindred spirit with the lunatic auditioning!!)

And then to make it worse, these bizarro parents come along with their kids (who can't sing) and then when the truth is told('You can't sing') they go into a mad fit of anger and shock!!

Then in the most bizarre (read 'most entertaining') bit of the show they say something like this;

'The judges don't know anything about music......I know more than them!!'

REALLY!?!?!

So.....while Simon was becoming a global superstar creating world famous pop stars, Louis was launching some of the best selling groups on the planet and Sharon was masterminding the career of her rock star husband and a global smash TV show about her home life.......you were????

Unless you are indeed some sort of music industry secret agent I would suggest you perhaps don't know quite as much as the judges......and while I'm here it could be possible that you're a little bias.....the 'talent' in question being your offspring........what do you think??

Priceless TV!!
